School Based Contracted Services

School Based Contracted Services

The Center for Psychological Services contracts with Texas public, private, and charter schools to offer PRN psychological testing services. Providers are Licensed Specialists in School Psychology. CFPS also participates in ARD proceedings and provides support with behavioral improvement programs.

Types of assessments we administer:

Emotional Disturbance (ED) Evaluations

The CFPS LSSP reviews the student’s records, reviews updated classroom observation, interviews the student, and administers various standardized test instruments including projective techniques, self-reports of personality/behavior, depression and/or anxiety. In addition to working directly with the student, the LSSP interviews the teacher and parent/guardian and obtains standardized behavior rating scale information from each, or reviews recently administered district behavior rating scales. The resulting report outlines recommendations of eligibility based on IDEA and state standards. The report also includes potential IEP and/or Section 504 recommendations. In-person feedback session with parents is included. ARD participation is available.

Autism Spectrum (AU) Evaluations

CFPS conducts LSSP portions of the Autism evaluation to determine if the student meets the criteria for an Autism spectrum disorder. Information from other team members is incorporated to produce a comprehensive report which outlines recommendations for eligibility based on IDEA and state standards.  The report also includes potential IEP and/or Section 504 recommendations. In-person feedback session with parents is included. ARD participation is available.

 Other Health Impairment (OHI) Evaluations

The CFPS LSSP provides a comprehensive test in conjunction with the disability report that is signed by a physician due to a chronic or acute health problem. This evaluation consists of a student observation and interview, computer-based tests of attention (for ADHD), as well as standardized rating scale data from parents and teachers. Often individually administered screening of academic achievement can be administered to obtain a baseline of the student’s reading, writing, and math ability to assist in program planning. Testing results in a comprehensive report which outlines recommendations of eligibility based on IDEA and state standards.  The report also includes potential IEP and/or Section 504 recommendations. In-person feedback session with parents is included. ARD participation is available.
